Congrats! You have your own domain within the MHC web universe. You can jump start your digital presence through eportfolio work in Folio while at Mount Holyoke, but might want to buy your own domain after you graduate. Starting to cultivate a unique web presence with the tools and resources here at Mount Holyoke will provide a foundation to build your own websites and eportfolios once you graduate. Test the waters in Folio, but dive in headfirst once you leave. There are many tools for blogging and web building; think about what YOU might want to build.
Mount Holyoke will retain student sites created in Folio for two years after graduation. When a student has been gone for two years, they will receive an email with instructions for exporting content out of the site into a new domain.
Moving the contents of your site out of Folio is pretty easy once you have a destination.
There are many plugins available on Commons. These plugins have already been installed on Commons and do not require further action from users. Because plugins are created by third parties, they are included assuming they do not introduce security vulnerabilities, accessibility issues, or other conflicts into WordPress. If we find that a plugin is compromising the system, we will remove it.
